Love the ones we can, the best we can.  It matters.

It is Tuesday.  My Aunt Vi in NJ is not doing well.

She has been in a nursing home for 10 plus years.

She seemed to do OK there.  Before moving there she was living on her own

in a second floor apartment until she fell and broke her hip.  My mom moved her there after

offering to move her in with her or out to Seattle.

My Aunt did not want to do either.  I have visited her over the years there.

My mom has done a great job visiting her and sending her gift boxes.

We have been calling her too. She had friends and fair amount of social

contact there. I have been calling her less partly because she

does not seem to understand much that I say.  I believe since the virus she has been more

isolated. This has contributed to her decline. It is all rather sad.

She is a tie to my father, and I may never see her, hear her, talk to her. again

Love the ones we can, the best we can.  It matters.

I am thankful for this opportunity.
