It is Tuesday. I will go for a walk shortly and bring Duchess.
We had Barbara stop by yesterday with her friend, Linda.
Barbara donated both Duchess and Bess to our farm. We are very thankful for Barbara’s generosity.
It was great to spend time with Barbara. She has 120 acres down in the Columbia Gorge.
She has been working with young farmers on her place, providing a low cost place to farm.
Her interests are providing these opportunities along with land preservation. Her general values and goals are similar to ours. Barbara’s farm is truly a special place. We discussed how difficult it is to have our ventures be successful.
Our venture is a money pit and I believe Barbara is struggling with similar issues.
Having a farm/ business be financially successful, financially sustainable is a beautiful mix of efficiency, skills, meeting needs or wants currently in the market and possibly even creating needs or wants in a marketplace. I believe that there is want and need for people to believe they can make a difference and that we can help them with that. I am not certain we have the skill to meet this need. We may just be a conduit or vessel for the values we are pursuing and may not be able to make it commercially sustainable.
It is an interesting challenge. I do want to pursue ATM and be a conduit for these Values.
Actively surround ourselves with life and fitness
Try to encourage hope
Mindful, loving and generous to others
I was talking with Shuna about how we need to shave Viggo’s and my mane and Viggo said, “ We don’t have manes we have Hrrr!”
Appreciation is a very difficult pursuit., but I am thankful to have this opportunity.
