Bobby holding critically endangered San Clemente Island Goats.

Today we’d like to introduce Bobby, who has been helping us with various projects around the farm. Working with Alaistair of Black Horse Contracting, Bobby has been invaluable to us and in particular the construction of our M.I.G.H.T. Project. In this video he’s holding Dahlia, one of the newest additions to our herd of critically endangered San Clemente Island Goats. Dahlia is one of three kids by LindseyFarm Ambrosia and BroadwayRanch Dante.

We named little Dahlia in honor of Bobby and his dahlia dream. His grandpa grows all sorts of dahlias – he creates different species of dahlia through cross-pollination, hybridization, and lots of clever plant ‘science’ that we don’t fully understand! It’s something that Bobby feels passionate about and his plan is to share these beautiful flowers with everyone on Whidbey Island, and the world as a whole. He believes that by creating spreads of dahlias, the island will not only pop with incredible color, but people will get the opportunity to see these gorgeous flowers, and that’s something he believes everyone should get the chance to experience.

We wish Bobby the best of luck, and we look forward to seeing your dahlias all over the island. We at Cascadia Heritage Farm believe we can make a difference, so can Bobby, and so can you!
