A breath of fresh air

10:18 pm Monday

I am sore!

I was up late on Saturday supervising a small slab being poured.

It was cold and took a long time for it to set up.

I was up until 2:30 am and the guys working on it were up for another hour or so.

It was still wet/ green in the morning so I worked on the edging.

I did that for three hours by myself.  I did an OK job.  I was surprised I was out there that long.

Today though I am very very very sore and I am now not surprised how long I was out there.

Tommy and Johnny were the guys helping and it was good they stayed as long as they did.

We need to add some heat/ hardener to the cement next time due to the low temperatures.

We had good visit today with Shuna’s mother and the team of people supervising her care.

It was really refreshing to have everyone who was in charge of each portion of her care to

be in the same room at the same time.

I have someone to follow up with now on a few issues, music in her room and when the neck brace will be removed.  Also to have more meetings like today’s would be great.  We have been so removed from her care that this is a breath of fresh air.

It is funny how useless I have felt in this process and now I seem to have the tools/ contacts to

follow up.   It is much more pleasant to feel useful.

Shuna’s mother is doing better and she is being well cared for.

It was nice for us to see.

I am thankful for this opportunity.
