I am trying to get back into the habit of writing and exercising. I find that they are both very helpful to me. I want to be more appreciative of my life and all those that are a part of my life. I believe we are all woven together and at times we struggle to stand apart and at times we try to find our way back to one another. Can Cascadia Heritage Farm be a place where my family can find balance and appreciation within this struggle while helping others too? Helping to find our way back to one another is a wonderful goal to aspire too.
Viggo and I have been learning how to ride on our lovely Dales Ponies. Shuna is a talented teacher who is very patient and creative in teaching us. It is exciting that Viggo and I have started to find our seat. Viggo has found his before me, he was able to stay on his pony Arabella while they unintentionally jumped over a small log.
Congratulations on staying on your pony Viggo, I am proud of you! I have not been as successful with my unintentional jumping but have found myself being catapulted into the air and landing on the neck of my pony. This has not been very enjoyable for me.
Shuna is saving my bacon and is teaching Viggo and me how to be better pony riders. She has us trying to hold ourselves up off our saddle in our new arena while we practice. We hold this position while we practice walking, trotting, stopping, and starting. This is a very awkward and painful position for me and is not my favorite thing to do. It is very hard to keep my heavy body from plopping back into the saddle. I love going into the woods and riding with my family. I love to race my pony Bess against Viggo and Arabella down the trails. If I can become a better rider so I am not terrified to traverse a log or two, that would be wonderful. Thank you Shuna for making all this happen.
