Many people don’t realize how versatile and athletic Dales Ponies are. It’s easy to see their gentle demeanor and forget to look past it! They are in fact very athletic. They are known for their ground-covering trot with plenty of knee and hock action, and used to be used in trotting races where they were sometimes referred to as Galloways.
Here is a video attempting to show that trot. It really just hints at it, as the stallion Kingmaker Talisman can trot much faster than he’s being allowed to do here.
